Library Card Contest: Fairyland Edition!

In celebration of Children’s Fairyland's 75th anniversary in 2025, we’re teaming up with the Oakland Public Library and inviting children in our community to submit designs for a future library card. The winning design will be featured on a new card that will be distributed through Oakland Public Library in the summer of 2025.

Design Guidelines:

Original artwork that represents infinite stories and imagination inspired by Fairyland.

Contest Rules:

  • This contest is open to children ages 5-12 who love Fairyland and reside in the Bay Area. 
  • Entries are limited to one per child.
  • Entries must address the theme and be original and created by your child
  • Preferred digital file formats are: .jpeg, .jpg, .png, .pdf
  • Library card dimensions are 3.5in x 2.25in (portrait or landscape mode) with a resolution of at least 300 ppi, so please keep these in mind when designing. 
  • The design must incorporate an element of Fairyland.
  • Do not include your name within the border of the image.

  • How would you inspire someone new to Fairyland with your artwork?
  • Which space showcases the best of Fairyland?
  • What is your favorite space in Fairyland? 
  • What inspires you at Fairyland?
  • Which space brings you comfort, joy, peace, or excitement?
  • Think big and small: how might you like to share the magic of Fairyland with your community?

You can submit a design digitally using our submission forms or you can print out/pick up a paper submission form and return it to Fairyland by January 19.
